Like every other year, Amsterdam Dance Event is crammed full of party highlights, but "Yours Truly" is definitely the one not to miss! After many fabulous editions, The Flexican's Yours Truly ADE Special is back on Saturday October 20th at Amsterdam's all time favourite hot spot Jimmy Woo and ready to present another legendary party with more music, a great atmosphere and the best DJs!
Dutch multiple award-winning DJ The Flexican, praised for his skills and style, is thé DJ in the Dutch music scene all around the country and beyond for years now. His reputation as a studio producer is also well reckoned by the likes of Diplo, Gregor Salto and Sidney Samson. Not forget to mention his Yours Truly CD compilations. Nearly three years ago, The Flexican saw the opportunity to bring his personal taste and vision to a monthly event; Yours Truly, a steady party concept where he plays legendary 4-hour DJ sets full of his latest floorkillers and old-time favourite party tracks! With four sold out XXL editions at Paradiso, a stage at Chuckie's Dirty Dutch Festival and clubparties all over the country, The Flexican has become a true pioneer by creating that "back to basics" club atmosphere and mixing different styles and influences of today’s music scene.
As always, ADE is a very special edition and so will The Flexican & Sef invite Moombahton Superstar: Munchi. Under his voluminous Latino-fro, Munchi is a 22-year-old producer from Rotterdam with a Midas touch. The young Dominican-Dutchman’s weapon of choice is moombahton, the slowed-down/sexed-up club genre that mixes reggaeton’s dembow beat with the squiggly synths of Dutch house. Munchi was one of the first producers to drink the proverbial Kool-Aid and push the genre, and he has raised the bar for moombahton by putting out a steady torrent of new, dance-worthy beats. In certain circles, the mere mention of his name sets booties into involuntary convulsions. Recently, Munchi released an EP on Mad Decent called Moombahtonista, compiling some of his earliest moombahton hits from 2010, which are already considered old-school classics of the nascent genre.
MC Sef is Flexican’s resident "wing-man" at every Yours Truly event and is probably the most popular Master of Ceremony in the Dutch nightlife scene. Sef released his debut solo album 'De Leven' last year and got booked at Holland's finest festivals, such as Lowlands and Noorderslag. He was also awarded with a State Award for his single 'De Leven' and featured on Gers Pardoel’s single ‘Bagagedrager’ that was certified ‘Gold’!
One thing is for sure: There’s no way you’ll overlook this guy!
