House? Techno? Trance? James Holden has always had his own peculiar viewson genres and styles. After breaking through during the heydays of trance and progressive, he was soon bored with the genre. Once graduated in mathematics from Oxford University, he found his own niche in the border zone between techno, progressive, house and electronica. With Border Community, Holden built a platform for like minded artists, that has now risen to world fame with
club anthems and critically acclaimed albums by a.o. himself, Nathan Fake and Kate Wax.
Nine years after the first hit A Break In The Clouds, Border Community has become a true techno institute, with loyal following across the globe. The sound is still pleasantly drifting between danceable and ungraspable, happy and melancholic, sophisticated and completely insane. James Holden is known as one of the few dj’s in the world, who can take you on a true journey through music. Same goes for Nathan Fake, who lures you into his live sets. Don’t expect an easy ride, but make sure to fasten your seatbelts for something special! Swiss based Kate Wax has gone through quite an evolution since her debute album in 2005. Where Reflections Of The Dark Heat was mostly minimalistic, her last album on Border Community called Dust Collision, is filled with bombastic synth hooks, angular drum patterns and heart-wrenching vocals. Fairmont has put himself on the map ever since his first clubhit Gazebo. But he’s best when playing a live-act; floorfilling and musically challenging at the same time.
Wesley Matsell is the youngster of the lot. With his first record Bernwerk, he put himself on the map. This year saw a great follow up on the famous Swedish label Barnhus.

To create more of a uniformity in the Sundays at Bloemendaal’s most frequented beach club, Woodstock has joined forces with the Belgian Labyrinth and the Amsterdam based Click. All three parties share the same musical vision and on top of that are good friends. WLC brings a series of memorable beach parties, with Border Community as one of many highlights. Craziness is guaranteed!
