SUPER-SONIC JAZZ FESTIVAL 2020

On October 21 and 22, the fourth edition of the annual Super-Sonic Jazz Festival 2020 will take place at Paradiso Amsterdam, as part of Amsterdam Dance Event.
Talent development platform Super-Sonic Jazz started in 2016 as a series of concerts and club nights in Paradiso to provide a stage for the new wave of contemporary jazz musicians. This turned out to be a bull's eye: a little later an annual festival followed and the launch of its own independent record label. With experimental programming that blends traditional jazz with contemporary genres such as hip hop, neo-soul, R&B and electronic music, Super-Sonic Jazz pushes the boundaries of what jazz culture means for listeners, aficionados and artists alike. The main goal of Super-Sonic Jazz is to create a fertile musical ecosystem in Amsterdam.
This year, the fourth edition of the festival will take place in a slimmed-down form and corona-proof as part of the official program of the Amsterdam Dance Event. 200 visitors are welcomed in Paradiso during two festival days. This is in stark contrast to the previous, almost sold-out edition of the festival in 2019, where a total of nearly 6,000 visitors gathered over six days in Paradiso and special concert locations such as De Duif and the Vondelkerk.
