SPIELRAUM X BASSIANI: Body in Revolt - a queer techno night.
For the first time in our short existence SPIELRAUM joins Amsterdam Dance Event with a collaboration we’re utterly thrilled about. Thursday October 18th, SPIELRAUM is joining forces with one of the most important pillars of the electronic music world; Georgian nightclub BASSIANI. For this night BASSIANI and SPIELRAUM curate the evening with resident DJ’s from both the Tbilisi night club and SPIELRAUM.
SPIELRAUM X BASSIANI will be the after party of the day program Body in Revolt. In collective force with ADE Playground and ICK Amsterdam, we created a one day event where the body is protagonist. This symposium will be hosted in the dynamic space of Mediamatic.
Amongst others, we will bring together, Bassiani from Georgia, MambaNegra from São Paulo Brazil and the Palestinian party organizers of Jazar Crew, to address dance as an urgency in times of socio-political crisis.
Inspired by the concept Body in Revolt of Emio Greco and Pieter C. Scholten (ICK founders and artistic directors), Arad Inbar (dancer at ICK ensemble) invited researcher and curator Bogomir Doringer to co-curate a program sourced in the experience of clubbing and rave culture.
To enable a full sensorial experience, different mediums are invited to explore and interpret; from visual artists, to performers, musicians, social-political activists and clubbers from local and international scenes.
