[P]Rewire - Andy Stott, Millie & Andrea, Still Serious Nic
Friday October 10
Canvas, Amsterdam
Doors: 23:00
Admission: €10 (€12 at the door)
We are glad to invite Andy Stott back after his memorable performance at Rewire Festival 2011. Manchester-based producer Andy Stott (aka Andrea) is well known for creating expansive, luscious essays in techno and dub. To date, Stott has released three solo albums and collaborated extensively, including the likes of The Hundred in the Hands and his former piano teacher, Alison Skidmore.
Stott is well known for his collaboration with Miles Whittaker (Pendle Coven and Demdike Stare). The duo go under the name Millie & Andrea. Their latest work, Drop the Vowels (released in March 2014), is a powerful and intelligent release that is able to incorporate fractured but enervating slabs of techno with a dub sensibility.
Still Serious Nic from The Hague likes wax more then average, does work daily at Clone and is involved in organising BAKK parties and works for Phuture West Agency.
REWIRE Festival is an annual international festival that showcases adventurous music. The programme consists of concerts, performances, club nights, screenings, artist talks and workshops. The fourth edition will take place on November 7 and 8 2014; at various venues across The Hague. [P]Rewire is a Warmup event just a month ahead of the festival.
