He captures the sometimes lost art of DJing. KAROTTE has grown out as one of the main figures of a music scene that’s evolved into a worldwide industry on one hand, but on the other still lacks a fundament in musical knowledge here and there. And that’s where this Frankfurt based DJ comes in. Karotte is the so-called personification of an artist who knows what it’s all about. Mesmerizing crowds for over twenty years now, bridging distances that have been created between DJ booth and dancefloor, he’s simply stayed true to what a DJ was meant to be decades ago. To be one of the party people that is!
A Beatport chart-topping regular, JULIAN JEWEIL is a French artist based in southern France and Berlin. This nonstop world-touring artist found his signature sound through his numerous productions and live sets, all characterized by a melodic style of techno. 2015 has been a great year for Julian Jeweil. Amidst an increasingly dense touring schedule, more releases have been out and met with astounding success: a new EP, “Bird”, on Minus and a remix, “COAR,” commissioned by artist Marc Houle for his album Restored. Fall 2015 in particular saw a series of remixes released – commissioned by legend Pete Tong, Sian, Pig & Dan and Joseph Capriati.
Born in Sweden, CHRISTIAN SMITH spent much of his youth and early adult life in Germany and America. This exposure to different cultures gave Christian a broader outlook than most 30-somethings, even for a well-travelled DJ more familiar with Star Alliance lounges than home comforts. This open-minded outlook comes through loud and clear in the music he makes and plays. While his roots lie in techno, Christian has never been a purist; favouring instead to flavour the tough, rhythmical music he loves with heavy doses of funk or intersperse the raw energy of his sets with inspired moments of pure euphoria.
