Gabriel Ananda was captivated by the sound of Classical music by the early age of 8. He was encouraged by his family to practice the cello, but it was through playing the guitar that fueled his motivation to continue to learn about music. The guitar became a useful tool to express his creativity, but Gabriel was not finished searching for his musical direction. In 1995 that changed. A DJ set by Sven Väth was the pivotal moment that ended Gabriel’s search to find his passion.
He began playing for the most prestigious events on an international level, as a DJ, and a live act, using not only his own productions, but also self made MIDI controllers, showing his
passion for all aspects of music, and the performance.
In 2008, Gabriel founded his own label, Basmati, as a place where he can release his own productions with complete artistic freedom, and by the end of 2011 Basmati celebrated its nine releases. Gabriel enters 2012 with a strong vision for himself and for Basmati. Expect more great moments to come…

2013 kicked off on the upbeat for Julien Chaptal. A great tour in South Africa and a massive release on Saved Records are just a glimpse of things to come. With releases planned on Defected, Supplement Facts, and Classic, it is already looking like another prolific year for Julien.
Originally from Paris, France, Julien Chaptal moved to Amsterdam some twelve years ago and started to produce groovy French house- and disco-tinged tracks that eventually led to a first release on the young Amsterdam imprint Remote Area in 2007. Around that time the label propelled a whole generation of Amsterdam producers to fame. With several of them (Kabale Und Liebe, Lauhaus, Boris Werner, David Labeij, Quazar) Chaptal formed the electronic live- band Amsterdam 661, which never released a record but only performs live on special events and festivals.
Julien has his hands full producing tracks for several upcoming releases, he is running the already notorious MFD label and will soon be unveiling a new project involving live musicians. We can’t wait.

The Dutch duo Hauk ‘n Baum consists of the two very good friends Tristan Moons and Rinke Beckers. Growing up in Amersfoort, Tristan played the clarinet and Rinke played the drums. These days they aim to make impulsive, energetic and melodic techno. Their music is deep, moving, highly danceable and full of love. They have played at numerous party’s around the Netherlands. Their first release, Mascotte / Welmoed, was released by Parquet Recordings in december 2011. New releases are to be expected soon.
