MAASTRICHT – Het eerste dance festival voor de jeugd in het Mecc Maastricht staat in de steigers (minimumleeftijd 16). Het MECC Maastricht en de organisatie van Essential Festival (Essential B.V.) zijn tot een akkoord gekomen. In de winterperiode zal Essential Festival naar binnen verhuizen onder de naam "Essential | Spirit of Dreams." De organisatie van Essential Festival geeft te kennen dat er jaarlijks twee edities van het dance festival zullen plaatsvinden. Eén festival binnen in de winterperiode en één festival buiten in de zomer. Het dance festival wordt gehouden op 13 december 2014 in het MECC Maastricht.
Essential Festival werd afgelopen zomer in Valkenburg georganiseerd. De organisatie brengt het buiten festival in de wintermaanden naar binnen om de jeugd ook in de wintermaanden een spectaculair avondje uit te kunnen bieden. Er worden festivalgangers uit alle windstreken verwacht waarbij de organisatie rekent met een maximale capaciteit van 6500 bezoekers. Alle 14 acts zullen op één groot podium hun kunsten vertonen: Ummet Ozcan, Sidney Samson, Sandro Silva, Brennan Heart, Shermanology, Tony Junior, MOTi, Dyna, La Fuente, Jacob van Hage, Morello Twins, Stanley More, AIZY en Roga (MC).
